This vital team assures that all Lancaster County EMS medics are trained to the highest standards ensuring quality care for our patients. All certified personnel and auxiliary members attend monthly in-services and quarterly trainings. In addition, EMS personnel must complete courses in Emergency Vehicle Operations, Incident Management/NIMS, Weapons of Mass Destruction, HAZMAT Awareness, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic CPR training. The Training Department organizes, conducts, and schedules training courses, maintains training records and equipment, develops new protocols/procedures, and evaluates new employees. The Quality Assurance/Training Assistant evaluates patient care reports daily to identify and measure the quality of medical care being provided to the citizens and visitors of Lancaster County. The Peer Review Committee evaluates reports monthly with the Quality Assurance/Training Assistant to determine trends for future needs in training or protocol changes.
